I believe all of us have gone through a bad patch somehow or another. Feeling lost, helpless and not knowing where the next step will take you. Or even worse, refuse or simply lack the courage to take a step forward.

Disconnecting with the world around you, you feel like breaking down and crying your lungs out. Some people want to be left alone, some need a listening ear, while some turn to others for advice.

Me? I am not a person to break down in front of others, even my closest friends, but I literally “rained” onto someone not too far back when I was at my lowest point in life. It was unintentional but I found it hard to control my emotions then. That person should remember as I believe it was the one and only time he saw me crying. Haha..

Here’s something to share with you guys. An excerpt from a Nicholas Sparks novel, “Nights in Rodanthe”. This was an advice given by the mum to her daughter when she lost her husband.

“You are stronger than you think you are, but only if you want to be. It isn’t easy, but you must understand that I’m not talking about your emotions. Those you can’t control. You’re still going to cry, you’re still going to have moments when you don’t feel you can go on. But you have to act as if you can. At a time like this, actions are just about the only things you can control.”

Subtle. Period.
