The concept of love is like soccer.
Some players have the skills and the flair for it.
Some players are lucky all the time.
Some players can act very well.
Some players are only after the money.
Some players play dirty.
Some players like to build up their play slowly while some play a more direct game.
Some players are often overlooked by their managers.
Some players are loyal to their clubs while some keeps changing.
Some players do not mind warming the bench in every match.
The question is, why become a substitute when you are good enough for the first team?
Newspapers these days are bombarded with advertisements featuring:
Hotel packages.
Restaurant promotions.
Jewellery discounts.
I was browsing through yesterday's newspaper when I realized that almost every front cover of each section is covered by a full page advertisement of different jewellery companies! If commercialization is not sufficient, competition is here to stay. For the record, it is going to be 14th Feb again. Which means that the economy is striving with consumer spending skyrocketing. For couples, this day is a day for love, romance and poking the guys’ pockets. Ouch. For singles, this is the day when guys wish for someone to poke their pockets.
I am sure everyone agrees that there is a degree of commercialization when it comes to this special occasion. Love is not about just one day, but seeing so many couples out on the streets (or in hotels) creates warmth and happiness. To me, it is no different from any other day. Valentines’ Day serves as a reminder for us to treasure our loved ones and evaluate how lucky we are. That’s why it doesn’t matter to me where I spend it or what gifts I buy, but most importantly, who I spend it with. If you spend it with the right person, it can really be unforgettable.
Last year, I spent Valentines’ Day in camp. The year before, I watched ‘The Last Samurai’ and had dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Cineleisure with extremely poor service. 3 years ago, I planted a bouquet of flowers in the locker for her and we watched our first movie together, ‘Shanghai Knights’ at Cineleisure no less. As I said, It is the company that counts. One shouldn’t feel unlucky for not having a date on Valentines’ Day, but rather, feel lucky for having our special moments before. For me, I am glad that I had the chance of spending it with the love of my life. Happy Valentines’ Day!
Ever heard of the phrase "I may be stupid but I am not blind"? That applies to most of us. Well, if you can read these, you are certainly not blind. But that is besides the point. Anyway, CNY is reaching its lull period already. Work has resumed and life is back to normal. I had an enjoyable time although I took lesser pictures than expected.
The only decent photo taken on the first day. Its quite obvious what we were busy with.
Kids can be quite a handful.
The lion paid a visit to my aunt's place.
Can you make out the chinese character?
We went to Bernard's house on the third day.
He tried to ride Kenny's bike but the engine stalled soon after.
After his failed attempt, he decided that enough was enough.
He then tried his luck riding something else.
This! A little zebra! It turned out to be quite successful in the end.
And he was saying.. "Alright! I give up! This striped babe suits me the best"!
We executed some stunts after he had enough of the zebra.
Incredible!
Marvellous!
Or is it? Haha..
I don't know what we were trying to do, but we look damn weird.
After we went up to Bernard's house, we played blackjack with tap water at stake.
Gambling with water, a healthy alternative.
Yeah. I lost to the 3 of them.
The biggest loser..
On the fourth day, we paid Susan a surprise visit.
Is it an elephant's leg? Or is it a pig's leg?
No. Its Susan's leg.
Poor Susan, she had a nasty fall on the 1st day of CNY and has to endure this for 2 weeks.
We got her this. And if you cant see, the caption reads
'IN MEMORY OF YOUR FALL ON CNY 06.'
As it was getting stuffy in the room (It smelt like someone has'nt bathe for 3 days), we decided to move to the living room.
Susan in her customised 'wheelchair.'
Friends are for sharing your pain isn't it?
Bernard and I came here for dinner. Then all of a sudden, we saw...
Fireworks!
We never know what may come our way. Sometimes when we feel as if we are staring at the dark and cloudy sky, bright sparks suddenly appear. When we finally realise that this is what we need and we want to treasure that moment, it disappears soon after. The unexpected goes expectedly.
Anyway, on the lighter side of things...
I am sure you guys have seen this
porn Osim commercial before.
I-gallop!
This is some good shit man. Free riding simulation. You can ride the whole day at your convienience and nobody cares. But there is a slight problem. Foreigners are just too wild. Singapore, being conservative, needs a tamer approach. Maybe they should deploy Singaporeans for their commercial. I am sure it will be a hit!
I-gallop Singapore edition.
Double riding.
